Two new spotlights on relativity: The realm of relativistic hydrodynamics (in the category General relativity) and Of gravitational waves and spherical chickens (in the categories Gravitational waves and cosmology).

30 March 2007

Two new spotlights on relativity: Of singularities and breadmaking and The gravity of gravity (both in the category General relativity). Also, we have now installed an RSS feed that allows you to keep up to date with what's new on Einstein Online.

26 January 2007

Two new spotlights on relativity: Gravitational deflection of light and The equivalence principle and light deflection (both in the category General relativity). Also, the spotlight text Extra dimensions - and how to hide them has received a nice new set of illustrations.

24 December 2006

Two new spotlights on relativity: Particle accelerators as black hole factories? (in the categories Relativity and the quantum and Black holes & Co.) and Changing places - space and time inside a black hole (in the category Black holes & Co.)

Two new spotlights on relativity: Gravity: From weightlessness to curvature (in the category General relativity) and The wave nature of simple gravitational waves (in the category Gravitational waves)

21 July 2006

We've reorganized two sections of Einstein Online. Since the number of our "Spotlights on relativity" has increased greatly since the first publication of this site, the usual Spotlights on relativity page now links to subpages with lists of texts in the categories Special relativity, General relativity,Gravitational waves,Black holes & Co., Cosmology, and Relativity and the quantum. Of course, in addition, there is still an extra page with a Complete list of all spotlight texts. Also, we have expanded the section that gives you information about the website itself. All such pages are now accessible from our new page About Einstein Online - existing pages like our List of authors and editors, but also new pages like a list of our partner institutions and a brief history of Einstein Online.

11 July 2006

Two new spotlights on relativity: How many different kinds of black hole are there? (in the category Black holes & Co.) and The many ways of building an empty universe (in the category General relativity)

23 May 2006

Three new spotlights on relativity: Cosmic sound (in the category Cosmology), Searching for the quantum beginning of the universe (categories Cosmology and Relativity and the quantum), and The sum over all possibilities (in the category Relativity and the quantum)

28 April 2006

Three new spotlights on relativity: Big Bang Nucleosynthesis, Equilibrium and Change, and Elements of the past (all three in the category Cosmology)

9 February 2006

Four new spotlights on relativity: Active black holes: Ultra-hot cosmic beacons, Luminous disks: How black holes light up their surroundings, and What figure-skaters, planets, and neutron stars have in common (all three in the category Black holes & Co.); also Heat that meets the eye (in the categories Black holes & Co. and Cosmology)

17 November 2005

Three new spotlights on relativity (all in the category General Relativity): The elevator, the rocket, and gravity: the equivalence principle, ...that all coordinate systems are created equal and Mass and more

27 October 2005

A new section About us now gives some background information about the people behind Einstein Online, from our authors to our scientific advisory board

14 October, 2005

13 October 2005

Two new spotlights on relativity, both of them parts of the Einstein-Online Loops '05 special (and both in the section Relativity and the quantum): Actors on a changing stage: quantum gravity and background independence and Geometry from order: causal sets

5 September 2005

Three new spotlights on relativity: Time dilation on the road, The case of the travelling twins and Twins on the road (all in the section Special Relativity)

6 August 2005

Three new spotlights on relativity: From E=mc2 to the atomic bomb and Is the whole the sum of its parts? (both in the section Special Relativity) as well as Einstein@Home - gravitational waves for everybody (section Gravitational Waves)

3 June, 2005

What's new, you're asking? This whole website - at least the international version that you're looking at (the German-language version has been around since January). Keep coming back to this page to find out when we're adding new Spotlights on Relativity!
