Event Horizon Telescope

The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) is an array of radio telescopes that are distributed around the globe. Using Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), they detect cosmic signals. Because of their large distance to one another, they achieve a significantly better spatial resolution than a single radio telescope would. By analyzing the combined data, astronomers can observe the event horizon of a supermassive black hole such as Sagittarius A*.
